MoMath x Code4NYC
Web Development Workshop 1
August 2026
We were excited to continue our partnership with MoMath by kicking off the first session of our four-week Web Development workshop series! During the first session, students were introduced to the basics of HTML and CSS and began working on their own websites. It was great to see how focused and attentive everyone was as they followed along and worked through the activities. By the end of the session, several students were surprised by how quickly the time had passed and shared how much fun they had.
MoMath x Code4NYC Python Workshop 4

Our fourth and final Python workshop with MoMath marked a wonderful conclusion to this four-week series. Throughout the workshop, students asked thoughtful questions, worked together to solve problems, and even helped each other understand new concepts. It was great to see the progress they made and the confidence they built over the past month.​

We are incredibly grateful to MoMath for partnering with us throughout this series and to all of the students for their enthusiasm and dedication each week. We hope this experience has inspired them to continue exploring computer science, and we look forward to future opportunities to work together.
GSS x Code4NYC
Python Workshop 3

In Week 3 of our GSS x Code4NYC Python workshop series, students showed growing confidence through their active participation throughout the session. We enjoyed seeing so many students ask thoughtful questions and remain focused during the lesson. We are looking forward to wrapping up the series with our final workshop.

In our third session in partnership with MoMath, students continued expanding their understanding of Python while learning about loops. Students were fully immersed in the activities, and it was great to see them collaborating and forming new friendships. We were especially happy to see several students taking detailed notes and asking thoughtful questions throughout the workshop.

Week 2 of our Python workshop series with GSS was another exciting session as students continued exploring Python concepts. The classroom was full of energy, with many students moving closer to the board to follow along and working through new concepts together.

In Week 2 of our workshop series, we focused on on conditional statements, numbers, and logic. We were excited to welcome additional students to the group. During the session, students make progress and continued to improve their skills.
GSS x Code4NYC
Python Workshop 1

In collaboration with GSS (Grand Street Settlement), we began Week 1 of our four-session Python programming series. Over 20 students filled the classroom, eager to transition from basic block coding in Scratch to text-based programming. Although they had no prior Python experience, our team loved watching them quickly adapt and successfully build their very first functional Python scripts.

In collaboration with the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath), we kicked off the first of our four-week Python workshop series! The opening session was very interactive, with students experimenting with code and staying actively engaged throughout. We guided each student and encouraged them to test and debug their own code.

WIN x Code4NYC Python Programming Workshop

In collaboration with WIN (Women in Need), New York City’s largest provider of shelter and supportive housing for homeless families, Code4NYC had the privilege of hosting a Python Programming Workshop. The event introduced passionate youth to the fundamentals of coding in a beginner-friendly, hands-on environment.

Participants explored core programming concepts - such as strings, variables, and lists - while building confidence in their problem-solving abilities through Python. By partnering with WIN, we were able to extend the power of computer science education to a broader audience, advancing our shared mission of creating accessible opportunities for learning and growth.
QPL X Code4NYC: Intro to Python Workshop (Extension II)

We are pleased to share that our second "Intro to Python" workshop at the Queens Public Library’s Jackson Heights branch was a great success. We extend our sincere thanks to Queens Public Library for their partnership and to all attendees for their enthusiasm and engagement!
QPL X Code4NYC: Intro to Python Workshop (Extension I)

In collaboration with the Queens Public Library, we had the opportunity to host a very successful "Intro to Python" workshop! Over the course of the event, we welcomed a diverse group of participants, each eager to dive into the world of coding. The workshop, which was offered at the Ridgewood library branch, provided beginners with the opportunity to learn Python programming in a hands-on, supportive environment.
Book Donation Drive

We’re excited to announce that Code4NYC has received a generous donation of over $2.8k worth of STEM and children’s books from a local middle school!
These books will directly support our mission of making education free and accessible for middle schoolers across New York City. We’re deeply grateful for the school’s support and look forward to putting these books into the hands of curious minds eager to learn and grow.
Washington Square Park Bakesale
April 2025
In collaboration with MECH Engineering, we hosted a successful bake sale at Washington Square Park, raising over $500 to support Code4NYC’s mission!
We sold a variety of delicious treats, including mini muffins, cookies, and refreshing bottles of water. All proceeds from the bake sale will help fund our free youth programs for middle schoolers across NYC. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, donated, and made this event such a success—we couldn’t have done it without you!
